this is important
A little message for mostly YouTube builders but y’all in general, I hope I’m not being too rough but..
I know it’s been just a couple of days but guys what you mean when you say you were expecting more “Mexican” style furniture in the new ep? 😭😭 y’all don’t expect us to have art deco or modern stuff? Like seriously, what do you guys want 😂 We all Mexican simmers think this new pack is very accurate, you can even ask the simmers that worked in the official builds 🤷🏻♀️
Y’all really falling over the Americanized cliché of Mexico fr, this pack is inspired in Mexico City. We are a city, the population is like 24million, we’re a really big city 💀 please leave your “villas” and “haciendas” to oasis springs or sol del valey.
Please I beg you to not come and say “oh this is not giving Mexico” cause clearly you don’t know what are you talking about, be educated fr. I said it before and I’m gonna keep talking about it; But the architectural limitations in Mexico are pretty much non-existent. We probably have every single architectural style you can think about. Modern, post-modern, brutalist, art deco, mid century, colonial, Romanesque, gothic among others, probably even Tudor 😭 so you coming and expecting us to only have the villas or colorful haciendas fiesta salsa talcos it really hurts me as Mexican 😂
I’m not hating against them, I love them and as I said we have all types of places so keep doing them if you want but that’s not really common in Mexico City. So why y’all keep going with the same villas or just straight boxes builds 😭 please do more research over than using only Pinterest please, is really not that hard 🙏🏻 there’s a lot of fellow Mexican simmers, there’s google, google maps, you can even do a research of Mexico City in airbnb 😭😭 likeeee there’s a ton of ways to get information really…. You can really step up your building game if you only do a proper research. As I’ve seen a lot of you do for other worlds, why not taking the time for Mexico? Why y’all don’t respect us as much as other cultures?:(
And I know and I understand y’all probably won’t be 100% accurate if you’re not Mexicans but that doesn’t mean you can build a Los Angeles Spanish style of home and get away with it by saying “sorry if is not that accurate” 😭 cause you’re not even trying :( Mind you I been working on a uk inspired save when I never been outside my country other than some places in Canada and Florida and I’m still doing very realistic builds just by doing some research. And I’m 100% sure almost every other realistic builder is in the same situation.
Y’all are amazing and you’re so creative, I love that about the community and I know y’all can do wonderful things if doing a really small but proper research!
And next time you wanna talk about if something is giving or not Mexican at least be educated before talking about something you don’t know, it’s honestly very disrespectful. Y’all are better than that and please don’t take this as an offense, this is more like constructive criticism. I know y’all not doing this on purpose, this is just based on ignorance which is nothing bad, you can always learn something new!🥺 please do better!!
#the art deco and brutalist architecture of Mexico and South America in general is to DIE FOR#not to mention they were colonized by Catholics so ofc they have gorgeous colonial architecture and cathedrals#basically every style trend that happened in Europe was bigger and better in south america cause they had MONEY money#y’all better take advantage#sims 4

Beckford World- Beta
Beckford is a secluded English town situated on a picturesque little island that radiates warmth and cosiness. The central square with its fountain is surrounded by cosy cafes and shops, where locals and tourists alike can enjoy a cup of fragrant tea or coffee from the comfort of the sunny terraces. The old harbour, with its moored boats and quiet streets, invites for leisurely strolls and romantic evenings by the water. The promenade, lined with flowering shrubs and benches, offers beautiful views of the ocean and sunsets, creating an atmosphere of privacy and tranquillity. The majestic cathedral with its tall towers and the cosy old castle become the real gems of Beckford, awe-inspiring not only for their historical significance but also for the atmosphere of warmth that surrounds them. Beckford is the perfect place for those who want to escape from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the simple pleasures of life surrounded by nature and friendly people.
This world-Edit Hylewood by the amazing @nilxis,credit for the terrain and plant placement goes to them. Then the world was redone by one of my favourite creators @Gruesim so the replacement texture roads are to her credit. The world has 27 public lots and 16 residential lots. Stor sets are present in the world! They are included in the download in package format, also in the build there are fixes for these sets. Please read the document inside on how to properly install the Stor fixes in PACKAGE format!!!!
Also in the world there are some mods that you can download from these links: 1.Mod functional printer 2.Tennis court mod 3.Mod purchase from inventory 4.Mod More vending machine fods 5.Mod system of petrol use by cars 6.post mod 7.Shop for clothing display pedestal mod 8.Social clubs mod
9.Private Clinic Psychiatry
10.Get Pumped
11.Yoga mod
12.Spin Class by Twinsimming
Recommendations for optimising the world. I advise and even insist that you use with this world mods Nraas:Master controller, nraas Overwatch, nraas Register, nraas Traffic.(Links to them do not give, I think they have you and so all installed):)Optimise the world with these mods: remove unnecessary transport, generated by the game stray animals, paparazzi and tourists. The world is released in betta version as it was little tested (and I will not have such an opportunity in the near future, so I put it out to you earlier than planned).

After not touching the game for like three years, I suddenly got inspired to recreate Joe's house in the Sims 4. It's not perfect but it's as close as I could get with what I have available to me.
And it was gonna be just a fun little thing but then I just kept having thoughts and Joe's house suddenly became fascinating to me.
There's something almost gothic about what this house has become to Ming and even Sol, although to a lesser extent. It reminds me of Manderley in Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca in that it's almost a character in itself.
Ming has been cooking for himself and for Joe in it for two years but it's so much more than that. When Joe broke in during the last episode, he was able to navigate it just the same as always because every little thing is in the exact same place, just the way he left it. Ming hasn't moved or touched anything and I suspect the mere notion of doing that would be unthinkable to him.
He uses the bowls Joe bought for them. Their matching pillowcases are still on the bed. Even the key is in the same place because what if Joe comes back?
Hell, Ming--who looks about as far from a plant person as it's possible to be--has kept all of Joe's plants alive and thriving for two years. And there are a lot of fucking plants! I know! I placed them in my recreation!
For Sol's part, the thought of someone breaking in is absolutely appalling to him, never mind that he's doing the same damn thing himself. His word choice is so telling when he happens upon who he thinks is a random thief.
"How dare you break into this house? Do you know whose house this is?"
Of course a random ass thief wouldn't know or care! But Sol says it because he cares, because it's so much more than just a house to him. It's Joe's house. It's the place filled with Joe's things, art Joe picked, the floor where Joe walked, the bed Joe slept in, and how dare anyone break in to this sacred place?
Which I strongly suspect is exactly how Ming is going to feel when he finds out Sol let himself in next week. Because the house is all the same things to Ming that it is to Sol, with an added giant layer of it being the house he shared with Joe, where they loved each other and were happy until his bullshit sent everything to hell in a hand basket.
Joe's house is a cathedral and a mausoleum and a shrine and it's all of Ming's hope and all of Sol's regret and it's FASCINATING.

DOSE AMSTRONG PALACE
Hi guys!
I am sharing the Dose Amstrong palace, a manor residence once located in the capital city of Argentina.
The palace is no longer with us, as it was demolished to build a multi-family edifice.
History: This house belonged to Dr. Carlos Dose's family and was located at the corner of Avenida Alvear and Ayacucho Street.
It was built by architects Jacques Dunant and Charles Paquín, the former also being the author of the Huetel estate, the Mercedes Cathedral, and the Carlos Malbrán Pavilion of the Bacteriological Institute of the City of Buenos Aires.
For more information on Dunant’s works, we recommend visiting the site of researcher Alejandro Machado: arquitectos-franceses-argentina.blogspot.com.ar.
The house, completed around 1890, was one of the first "grand residences" on Avenida Alvear. A magazine published in the 1920s described it as follows:
"One of the architectural beauties that adorn our city is the mansion of Mr. Alfredo Zemborain and his wife, Mrs. Justa Dose. It is a faithful small-scale replica of the Palace of Francis I, located a few kilometers from Paris. The interior design, of indisputable good taste, harmonizes with the construction of the house, as everything follows the French style. Furniture, paintings, silverware, bronzes, marble, and carved wood—all reveal art and wealth. The gardens provide a cheerful note, with their abundant trees, and the magnificence of the flowers gives the palace the beauty of every season."
However, the social magazines of the time, which did not specialize in architecture, were often full of inaccuracies, so they cannot be taken as a reliable source: the Dose family house was not a replica of a palace of Francis I, nor was everything about it French. The façades were inspired by the Louis XIII style, corresponding to the transition between the Renaissance and French Baroque, which, in one of its periods, is characterized by the combination and contrast of brick and stone on the façades.
For more history: find the spanish version here: https://miradaatenta.wordpress.com/2023/03/07/historia-de-la-avenida-alvear-el-palacio-dose/
https://arquitectos-franceses-argentina.blogspot.com/
Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina
Style: Louis XIII eclectic
Date: 19th century
This house fits a 40X30 lot.
I only decorated some of the important rooms. All the rest of the house is up to your taste to decor.
Hope you like it.

Sims 4 Castle Estate Kit: An Honest Review
Xan here. I do a fair amount of historical builds, fortresses and castles included—but having to hand-draw parapets as half-walls, the lack of appropriate windows, and the mismatched wall textures regularly drive me up the wall. So when I heard they were releasing the castle kit, I was hype. But, then it came out, and the collective response online seemed to be an overwhelming ‘meh’. Still, I’m committed now, so I bought it to check it out.
And I sort of agree? But I also…don’t. Stay with me, I’ll explain.
First of all, here’s what you get with the kit: 25 items: 1 wallpaper, 1 floor, a foundation, 2 fences, stairs, railing, pillars, 2 wall trims, spandrel, and 2 wall decors, plus windows and doors.
…I have a few observations.
Let’s start with the worst bits:
The Bad:
The swatches are…underwhelming. There are seven, five with variations. The white and black are standalone. The tan (left) and cream (right) are almost identical in some lighting. There’s also one tan swatch with greenery on it, not seen elsewhere. (It has flowers. Why would there be flowers on a castle wall? Maybe that’s just me.) Rest assured, it matches nothing else in the game but the floor that came with it. The brown is…very brown—but there’s a good thing about it, I’ll get there.
So. The spandrels. They look okay up-close, if a little jagged sometimes. But the jaggedness blooms like mold when you zoom out. (At least on my PC.) Probably not using these.
We did get a new foundation, though it doesn’t quite seem to match the walls, due to the light border. Unfortunately, as usual, we did not get a new platform to match it. It’s like EA forgot that feature…
Nitpick with the wall emblem we got: the “clean” swatches are the knight helmet, and the “dirty” ones are a goofy heraldry. No option to have clean heraldry or dirty knight helmet. Also, note that the black and white come with dirty swatches, but we didn’t get dirty walls.
And this is really petty, but these beautiful windows? These ones, here?
Only come with two—count ‘em, two—stained glass swatches, in either gray or tan. That’s all you get. So that black cathedral with stained glass windows you wanted? You’re out of luck. Not fond of the art either. It’s cute, but that means I won’t use it. (Sidenote: that tiny window is not 'an arrow slit', EA.)
That was a lot. Now let’s get to:
The Good:
The windows and doors themselves are amazing. Just look at them! They’re appropriately grand for a castle, and they included sizes for all wall-heights. The best ones are locked to the tallest wall, but for a reason. They’re enormous. Probably the biggest ones we got.
The crenelation fence is a Godsend. (No more drawing half-walls for hours!) It’s adaptive, meaning it changes where the bigger support is based on how long the fence is, where it’s bent, etc. And it looks phenomenal. The wall trims are ornamental as hell, but they are also very cool.
Fun bonus: despite the stereotype regarding EA swatches not matching, the stone textures do sort of match some of the walls we already have! (Shown: Get Together, Bowling Stuff, Fitness Stuff, Jungle Adventure, Cottage Living; Castle Estate walls at the bottom.) This means you can mix and match the new trims, parapets, pillars, windows, doors, all of it, to a degree. And it works pretty well!
Final Verdict: Is it Worth it?
So, when I first got it, I wasn’t super sold. Then, I ran a test on a build I was struggling with and…well, you saw the cover. Needless to say, for five dollars, that’s not bad.
If you’re a historical builder or just really want some grand objects to use, it’s worth the money. There are issues, and the low price tag doesn’t excuse that, but it doesn’t change the fact that the Kit itself is pretty good.
(Now all I need is for them to give us a privy. If you live in a castle, you shouldn’t have to pee in a bush.)

I called this Zapolyarny Palace before I realized it was just the Cathedral where La Signora’s funeral was held, but I’ll probably continue calling it that until I find out the real name 💔
Either way here’s a side by side comparison of my Sims 4 build vs. the real thing !

Prime Minister, Charlemagne: His Majesty fulfilled all his duties with sincerity, dedication and wisdom. His example must not be forgotten; we must remember his immense courage and foresight every day. The liberal spirit of Napoléon IV must live on.
Charlemagne: Descendants of Napoléon I and King Louis XIV, the Simparte dynasty today is the legitimate heir to our history. I'm reminded of a phrase from the Emperor Napoléon III: « Representing in so many ways the cause of the people and the national will, it will be the Nation which, by raising me to the throne, will crown itself ». It's certain that His Majesty shared the same vision.
Charlemagne: In Francesim, the Emperor never dies. The Emperor is dead, Long live the Emperor! Long live Francesim!
Prince Henri: The Emperor is dead, Long live the Emperor! Long live Francesim!
